We long knew that Natalie Goldberg was a great writer, so it was a treat to see that she is also a fine artist. It was so fitting to be able to use this piece as the opening illustration for an autobiographical story depicting a profound spiritual journey. The paintings that illustrated this story were evocations of the same memories of a particular time in her life that gave rise to the story “A Time of No Place.” –Liza Matthews

Natalie Goldberg is a poet, teacher, writer, and painter. A student of Zen Buddhism for 25 years, she trained intensively with Katagiri Roshi for 12 years, and is ordained in the Order of Interbeing with Thich Nhat Hanh.
