When I was trolling the web for images to accompany a Buddhadharma article by Thich Nhat Hanh entitled "Becoming Truly Alive" in the Winter 2009 issue, I was looking for something that expressed exuberance. Frankly, I was thinking human being, but then I stumbled on “Kelly” and she hooked me. When I approached Michelle Kerr—the dog’s owner and exclusive paparazzo—about using the photo, she responded with an enthusiastic Yes. She also let me know that Kelly has all the zest for living the picture would lead you to believe. The article the photograph accompanied was about loving life and Kelly is, in Michelle’s words, "that special kind of dog who comes around now and then and really exemplifies delight.” — Seth Levinson  « Return Home |
