Learn more about our contributors

We are huge fans of all the artists, museums, and publishing companies who have made their works available for use in our magazines. We would like to thank all of them who have made work available for reproduction in the Online Gallery. Contributors’ website links are included in the products detail pages, and we encourage you to visit these sites and explore the riches that you will find there.

Our printer—Image House

Unless otherwise noted in the detailed description, all prints in the Online Gallery are produced for us under special arrangement by Image House in Halifax, Nova Scotia. (www.imagehouse.ns.ca).

Image House produces high fidelity prints of exceptional quality using the very latest digital printing technology available. Their high-resolution printers use water-based pigment inks to print onto 100% cotton rag acid-free watercolour paper. The final result is an image that is as close to the original as is possible.

Giclee fine art reproduction

Translated from French, the word giclee actually means "a little spray" or "squirt." In the printing industry, however, giclee has become synonymous with a high fidelity printing process. A giclee print begins with a digital file, captured by the best scanning technology available. Once a file has been created, the art is then proofed using the same printer, ink and paper as the final print, ensuring that the proof is a genuine example of the final print and showing any final adjustments that may be required before the printing process begins. The giclee printer itself is a large-format inkjet printer chosen for its exceptional fine dot and consistency, and the factory inks are replaced with inks specifically designed for fine art applications. The resulting fine art prints boast a long life span when compared to other printing methods (up to 200 years in some tests). Making a giclee print is a carefully calibrated process that requires the utmost attention to detail. Like the images it captures, giclee print is an art form in itself, and the result rivals the best print methods available today.

Shipping, Taxes and Duties

As noted above, your purchase includes FREE SHIPPING AND HANDLING for all prints shipped to addresses in the US and Canada.

We make every effort to ship your prints within 5 working days of receipt of your order. If we cannot, we will contact you by telephone or email. Please add an additional week to ship framed prints.

All framed and unframed prints will be shipped via Canada Post Xpresspost service which includes insurance, tracking and proof of delivery. They guarantee delivery to the USA within 6 business days. Delivery time within Canada is 3 business days.

If your order requires expedited shipping and handling, please contact us.

Every effort has been made to ensure that we are in compliance with US customs requirements regarding duty. Art prints are exempt from duty under the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and all shipments of prints will bear the code issued by the IRS for this purpose.

Frames for Prints

You may appreciate the convenience of purchasing your favourite print already framed. We offer a single, elegant option that allows you to bring home the art you love--fully assembled and ready to hang. We have selected a simple, beveled black wooden frame (one and three-quarter inch for the 17"x22" prints and one and one-quarter inch for 11"x17" prints), with double custom-cut archival-quality mats, clear picture-framing glass and an acid-free foam core back. The back comes fully wrapped in butcher paper, complete with security picture hooks, hanging wire, and bumper guard to protect your wall. We are only able to offer this one professional picture frame treatment and only for our standard-sized prints (11"x17" and 17"x22"). To view samples of our frames click here.
